FOXX, a 22-year radio veteran who has been with AUDACY since 2009, was PD and afternoon drive host at WPLJ/NEW YORK prior to WNSH. At KILT, he assumes duties that previously had been handled by AUDACY's Format Captain and VP/Country Programming TIM ROBERTS since PD CHRIS HUFF's departure in 2020.

CUMULUS Country WDRQ (NEW COUNTRY 93.1)/DETROIT afternoon air personality BILL “BROADWAY” BERTSCHINGER has revealed plans to leave the station, effective FRIDAY (1/14). He has done both mornings and afternoons at various times since joining WDRQ in 2019 as APD and air personality.
In addition to WDRQ, he tracked afternoons at Top 40 sister WHTS (105.3 HOT FM)/GRAND RAPIDS and did a midday SATURDAY shift on Country WFMS/INDIANAPOLIS. No word yet on his replacement at WDRQ.

VERONICA YVETTE BENNETT, aka RONNIE SPECTOR, who was inducted into the ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME in 2007 as a member of THE RONETTES, died after a brief illness at the age of 78 after a brief battle with cancer.
The family released a statement: “Our beloved earth angel, RONNIE, peacefully left this world today “She was with family and in the arms of her husband, JONATHAN.

WILLIAMS previously served as Mgr./Marketing and Member Relations for the NASHVILLE-based not-for-profit, and began her sixth year with the group this month. VARIETY is reporting that Rapper RODDY RICCH is pulling out of this week's SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE appearance as the musical guest due to COVID exposure on his team. NBC has scheduled the JACK ANTONOFF band BLEACHERS to perform in his place.
RICCH is the third musical guest to pull out of a performance on the show due to COVID-related issues. MORGAN WALLEN and CHARLI XCX also cancelled previous appearances for the same reason.

According to several reports, including BILLBOARD, Hip Hop legend SNOOP DOGG is looking to launch his own brand of hot dogs called "SNOOP DOGGS." Apparently, SNOOP applied last month at the US PATENT AND TRADEMARK OFFICE for a federal trademark registration on the term “SNOOP DOGGS,” saying he plans to use it to sell hot dogs and other types of sausage. His West Coast attorney filed the patent as an intent-to-use application, meaning SNOOP has not yet launched a brand — but that he has a serious intent to do so and wants to lock down the name ahead of time.

CUMULUS MEDIA/LITTLE ROCK, AR tallied the funds raised by its statewide Festival of Stars Toy and Donation Drive and Radiothon on DECEMBER 10th and came up with a total of $363,249 raised for ARKANSAS CHILDREN’S, operator of CHILDREN’S MIRACLE NETWORK hospitals ARKANSAS CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL and ARKANSAS CHILDREN’S NORTHWEST. The radiothon, which has pulled in over $3.6 million in 17 years, featured hosts from Top 40 KLAL (ALICE 107.7), AC KURB (B98.5), News-Talk KARN-F, and Hip Hop KIPR (POWER 92 JAMS).
OM RANDY CAIN said, “If you were to ask any of my staff members at CHRISTMAS time or in the middle of JULY, in year 3, 10, or 17: When has your radio career been the most meaningful and impactful? They would answer resoundingly, ‘During the ARKANSAS CHILDREN’S Radiothon.’ There could not be a more rewarding endeavor for our stations than caring for ARKANSAS’ kids and their families. We’re looking forward to our 18th Radiothon in 2022.”

Former iHEARTMEDIA News-Talk WLW-A/CINCINNATI Executive Producer, APD, and Interim PD RICH WALBURG has passed away after a battle with leukemia at 55.
WALBURG was at WKW for 18 years before departing in 2011 to go into public relations at the MS SOCIETY's OHIO VALLEY chapter and later at CINCINNATI USA REGIONAL CHAMBER. More recently, WALBURG served as Dir./Media and Creative Services at GAME DAY COMMUNICATIONS.

IAN GREENBERG, the co-founder and CEO of CANADA's ASTRAL MEDIA radio and television company, died MONDAY (1/10) at 79.
GREENBERG and his brothers HAROLD, HARVEY, and SIDNEY, founded a photo processing business in 1961 and expanded into movies before refocusing on ASTRAL PHOTO retail stores and television, launching pay TV channels FIRST CHOICE, PREMIERE CHOIX, and THE FAMILY CHANNEL, then moving into radio, purchasing STANDARD BROADCASTING in 2007. REGIONAL RADIO GROUP Classic Hits WCKM-WDKM/LAKE GEORGE, NY personality and AE MIKE "DEEJAY" DUBRAY died TUESDAY (1/11), reports the GLENS FALLS POST-STAR. No details were announced surrounding DUBRAY's passing, but the paper noted that he had posted news about undergoing surgery at GLENS FALLS HOSPITAL to his FACEBOOK page MONDAY and had been recovering.
DUBRAY, also known in the region for his work as a wedding and events DJ, joined WCKM sister WWSC-A in 1991, left for THINK TANK MEDIA AC WENT-A-W286CD/GLOVERSVILLE, NY in 2019, and returned to WCKM in late 2021.
