AUDACY has ended its "Two Minute Promise" across most of its Alternative stations just over 14 months after instituting the strategy. The promise limited spot breaks to no more than two minutes as part of what the company called a commitment to putting the listener first. It coincided with major changes at both its Alternative and Country stations that included numerous layoffs and expanded use of in-house produced national and voice-tracked content.
ALL ACCESS has learned that AUDACY ended the “Two-Minute Promise” across its Alternative portfolio on MONDAY, NOVEMBER 15th. Instead of four 2-minute stop-sets an hour, the stations now distribute commercials across two breaks an hour, each lasting about 4-5 minutes. It's reported, the decision was made due to higher spot inventory demand.
The "Two Minute Promise" reportedly will continue on KNDD (107.7 THE END)/SEATTLE where the concept first originated in 2014.

According to THE CHICAGO TRIBUNE. FERGUSON just sold his home in suburban HINSDALE for $1.35 million.
Allegations against FERGUSON included a lawsuit from an assistant producer alleging that he had coerced sexual favors from her and then retaliated against her. Additional allegations followed before FERGUSON was taken off the air in early OCTOBER.
The five-bedroom farmhouse-style house was put up for sale for $1.5 million on JULY 30th, nearly two years after FERGUSON paid $1.4 million. FERGUSON and his former wife, from whom he divorced in 2020, sold their six-bedroom, 8,270-square-foot mansion in HINSDALE in MAY 2020 for $2.9 million.

An on-air bet led to a special fundraiser by SARKES TARZIAN INC. AC WAJI (MAJIC 95.1)/FT. WAYNE that featured morning host ANDY BECKMAN running a lap around a baseball stadium in his underwear, accompanied by a few dozen other runners.
“ANDY’S UNDERWEAR RUN,” held SATURDAY (11/20) at the FORT WAYNE TINCAPS’ PARKVIEW FIELD, was the result of a bet between BECKMAN and his co-host KAT WALBURN over the timing of the arrival in the mail of a costume from CHINA and raised funds for ERIN’S HOUSE FOR GRIEVING CHILDREN, a charity that helps kids who have lost family members. The event raised almost $2,500 for the organization.
BECKMAN said, “The goal was to raise awareness and funds for every single ERIN’S HOUSE family this holiday season.”
A new documentary available on demand TUESDAY (11/23) chronicles NEEDTOBREATHE's work on new music in a historic house-turned-recording studio during a three-week period at the height of the pandemic. "NEEDTOBREATHE: INTO THE MYSTERY" was directed by CHRIS PHELPS and produced with ELEKTRA RECORDS and FOUNDATIONS MUSIC and will be available via iTUNES/APPLE TV and AMAZON PRIME VIDEO.
"We’re big fans of music documentaries where you get to actually watch the artist creating in the space where the record is made,” said NEEDTOBREATHE in a press release. “Getting to see an idea stretch and grow into a finished song is really inspiring, but we’ve never really let our fans see behind the curtain. Now people will get to pull up a chair and become a part of the process as we create our eighth studio album in an old house in the hills of TENNESSEE.”
