"DIY is off the charts.
"So how are you weaving your brand into this trend?
"Holding virtual 'DIY' parties with the audience can create a more reciprocal brand reputation – showing interest in what they’ve been up to.
"And throwing client sponsored virtual “DIY” hangouts around their product or services places our partners in front of the consumers they are counting on to return as we reopen for business.
"Leveraging Social Media to build on brand strength is critical.
"Because brand strength is what will drive the bottom line when we come out of this."

Your Station Can Make A Difference In How Soon America Gets Back To Work, Safely, During The COVID-19 Pandemic
Be Safe, Be Healthy
States are re-opening. Sadly, a number of them are now seeing increases in new COVID-19 cases. There is no vaccine for COVID-19... at the earliest it is months away. Is this now our new normal? How does AMERICA avoid a resurgence of COVID-19 infections and death? Simple ... wear a mask when potentially coming in contact with others, and maintain social distancing of 6-feet or more.
Urge your listeners to wear a mask and maintain social distancing -- a sick population is not a population of consumers and will not help right our economic issues.
How is your market dealing with the re-opening of AMERICA? Are there big crowds at bars, restaurants, beaches/lakes? Are participants wearing masks and still observing social distancing? How will you and your station(s) deal with a potential renewed infection/death spike and potential retightening of what's allowed to be open? In other words, a redefining of what's an essential business. more »

After initially being moved from MAY until AUGUST (NET NEWS 3/20), THE MUSIC BUSINESS ASSOCIATION’s annual MUSIC BIZ conference in NASHVILLE has now been scrapped for 2020 over continuing COVID-19 concerns.
The next conference, MUSIC BIZ 2021, will return to the JW MARRIOTT NASHVILLE from MONDAY, MAY 10th through THURSDAY, MAY 13th, 2021.

PORTIA SABIIN said. “However, we plan to follow up the success of our ‘MUSIC BIZ LIVE’ series by virtually offering segments of our conference through the rest of the year. This is a challenging time for our global industry, but it has created an opportunity for MUSIC BIZ to offer our programming in exciting new ways and to bring our community together despite our physical separation.”
The group plans to revive parts of this year’s agenda and keep its members engaged by hosting a live interview series via ZOOM, among other programming. That includes “Record Store Day Couch Camp,” an online educational program for independent retailers planned for TUESDAY, JUNE 2nd through FRIDAY, JUNE 5th.

Adam Davidson's 'The Passion Economy' Podcast Moving From Behind Luminary Paywall To Free Via Three Uncanny Four
Podcast producer THREE UNCANNY FOUR will take "THE PASSION ECONOMY," the podcast hosted by one of its co-founders, "PLANET MONEY" co-creator and NEW YORKER staff writer ADAM DAVIDSON, from behind the paywall at LUMINARY to general free distribution on JUNE 3rd. The show, focusing on "everyday people who have cracked the code to success in the 21st century economy" and based on DAVIDSON's 2019 book of the same name, will post weekly episodes.
DAVIDSON said, “Passion Businesses and Passion Careers often emerge through times of crisis -- when an old, familiar way, no longer works. And they also come out of times of self-reflection, periods when people have the time to think and wonder and experiment. This current crisis, for all its real pain, is forcing us time to look at how things are done normally and imagine how they might be done differently. This show is about people who have figured out a way to thrive during a time of chaos and uncertainty by building around their skills and interests. Now is exactly when people need inspiration and clear models of how to succeed in an economy that is operating according to different and much scarier rules.”

WILLARD PARR, whose tenure on WSRW-A/HILLSBORO, OH lasted for 62 years, died MONDAY night (5/18) at 94.
PARR, a police sergeant with the HILLSBORO POLICE DEPARTMENT from 1951 through 1965, was the first voice heard on WSRW when it signed on in 1956, and he remained a staple on the station, which was in the Country format for most of the years, until his OCTOBER 2018 retirement.
STEREOTIDE supported both DAUGHTRY and SKILLET on their respective German tours, played other headlining festivals and supported the likes of 80s singer NENA and PERCIVAL from THE VOICE (GERMANY), amongst others. Don't miss today's discovery of STEREOTIDE on PASSPORT APPROVED.
